Fish on the BBQ? Good idea!

Spring and summer are here! Time to get your BBQ out from under the dust and enjoy a delicious bite. And it doesn’t have to be just with meat! A delicious steak of fish or a fish whole on the BBQ is an absolute treat. But which fish then? And how do you get started?

As with meat, there are endless varieties of fish you can prepare on your barbecue. You can grill whole fish, fillets or steaks. Do you opt for whole fish? Dorade Royale, sea bass, mackerel, trout… even “speciallekes” such as knorhaan are easy to prepare. Would you prefer a fillet or steak of fish on your grill? Then swordfish, tuna or salmon (fillet or sliced) are a good option!

How to prepare?

But how do you easily prepare your fish on the barbecue? Actually, there is not much difficult about it. You can simply season a fillet or steak with salt, pepper and other (fresh) herbs, a drizzle of olive oil and put it on the barbecue! You can pimp a whole fish by sticking slices of lemon and other fresh herbs along the belly cavity and seasoning the outside with some salt and pepper. A little lick of olive oil inside and on the skin and then onto the grill! Usually fish doesn’t need more than 10 minutes of frying along either side.

Bon appétit!
